ENSEMBLE THINKING is a group improvisation training system consisting of rigorously structured movement scores focusing on a group's use of time and space. These scores provide limitations, which are the foundation for comprehensive group connectivity. AS a group discovers cohesion during the practice of the score, the limitations are removed, leading the group into an open improvisation that is supported by the established deep connectivity. Dancers trained in Ensemble Thinking are able to create dynamic and cohesive group improvisational performances.
- Nina Martin, Creator of Ensemble Thinking and Co-Founder of Lower Left Dance Collective

Through the expressive articulation of the back and limbs, dropping weight and focusing on initiating movements from the core of the body, the unique movement style of Suchu Dance will be explored beginning with a warm-up based in creating a foundation of breath, strength, dynamic lyricism and humor. The class will progress into short movement combinations addressing specific elements of technique and functional anatomy, and then conclude with learning a section from the Suchu Dance concert repertory.
